Lace-up for a unique adventure at Bucky's Boot Top Prohibition Run, returning on April 11, 2026, to the scenic F. D. Roosevelt State Park in Pine Mountain, GA. This highly anticipated 6th annual event, part of the Southern Singletrack Series, challenges runners across 7K, 14K, and 21K distances on its famed "boot-shaped Boot Top Loop". The course features approximately 4.3 miles of rocky, rooty, and rolling singletrack per loop, promising a dynamic and engaging experience for all participants. Along the route, runners will encounter breathtaking scenery, including picturesque waterfalls, opportunities for wildlife sightings, a poignant memorial rock from a 1953 plane crash, and the distinctive "Elephant Rock" near the finish.
Starting from the east side of the Dowdell's Knob overlook area, runners will be treated to sweeping vistas of "The Valley". Typical race day conditions in mid-April offer comfortable highs around 77F and lows near 53F, with a mere 14% chance of precipitation, creating ideal trail running weather. Two well-stocked aid stations, located at the Boot Top Parking Lot and Dowdell's Knob trail intersection, will provide water, CeraSport, pretzels, chips, fruit chews, and candy. Participants are required to bring their own water bottles to ensure proper hydration on the course.
Bucky's Boot Top Prohibition Run is renowned for its intimate atmosphere, capping entries at just 75 runners, and often sells out quickly due to limited parking in the State Park. Embracing a playful "running from the law like the Prohibitionists in the '30s" theme, this race benefits MercyMed of Columbus and promises both grit and charm. Whether tackling one loop or three, runners can expect a memorable challenge and the satisfaction of earning true trail cred on this Southern Singletrack favorite.
