About This Race

Join the vibrant celebration of community and fitness at the Long Beach Pride Run on Sunday, May 17, 2026, in beautiful Long Beach, CA. Offering both a 10K and 5K race, this event is a highlight of the Long Beach Pride weekend, combining a scenic run with a powerful message of inclusivity and support for local LGBTQ+ charities. Expect typical race day conditions with comfortable highs around 73F and lows near 58F, and a low chance of rain, perfect for a refreshing run along the coast.

Both the 10K and 5K races start and finish at Ocean Boulevard and Junipero Avenue, leading runners down a ramp to the Junipero parking lot. The course takes participants along the picturesque Long Beach beach path, offering stunning ocean views. The 10K route turns right onto the beach path for approximately 1.5 miles before looping back to join the 5K course. The 5K runners turn left, heading over the iconic Belmont Pier towards Rosie's Dog Beach and back. The 10K is for runners only, with a strict 9:30 AM cut-off time to accommodate the subsequent Long Beach Pride Parade, for which the start/finish area serves as an excellent viewing spot. Runners appreciate the scenic flat course and vibrant atmosphere.

Beyond the run, the Long Beach Pride Run stands out as the major fundraiser for the Shoreline Frontrunners of Long Beach, with all net proceeds benefiting vital local charities such as The LGBTQ Center in Long Beach and the Aids Food Store. Adding to the family-friendly atmosphere, the event features a "Pride sKIDaddle," a 200-foot dash for young participants, complete with bibs for coloring and finisher medals. The race also promotes inclusivity with a non-binary category. Chip timing is provided, and a bag check service is available for convenience. Be advised that event parking is limited; early arrival, public transportation, ride-sharing, or utilizing the provided free bike valet are highly recommended.
