The USATF Certified 5K course is predominantly paved and is generally described as a scenic and historic route, with some sources calling it a fast, flat route along Duke of Gloucester Street, while others classify the elevation profile as moderate. Participants can choose to run, run and walk, or competitively walk the 5K, with a dedicated students-only 5K option also available. Typical race day conditions in mid-April offer pleasant weather, with highs around 72°F and lows near 49°F, and only a 16% chance of precipitation.
