15th Annual Breeze in the Trees 5k

This unique 5K run/walk offers participants an unparalleled opportunity to explore the working Green Valley Pecan Farm, navigating its dirt roads and trails. The course winds through lush pecan orchards, providing a shaded and "breezy" summer running experience under a full canopy of leaves. Starting bright and early at 7:00 AM, with bib pickup opening at 6:15 AM, the race aims to leverage the cooler morning temperatures. Typical race day conditions in early August bring highs around 99F and lows around 76F, with a minimal 9% chance of precipitation, making the early start and shaded course particularly appealing.

As part of the popular "Orchard Series," this USATF-sanctioned event is renowned for its distinctive setting. Runners will traverse private farm roads, enjoying the serene beauty of the pecan trees that offer a natural respite from the summer sun. While there are no water stations directly on the course, water bottles will be available at the start and finish areas. After crossing the finish line, participants can look forward to a complimentary pancake breakfast, generously provided by the Green Valley Firefighters Association, complete with coffee and snacks to refuel.
