15th Annual Freedom Run 5k - Bigfork

Lace up your running shoes for the 15th Annual Freedom Run 5k in picturesque Bigfork, Montana, on July 4, 2026. This cherished community tradition offers more than just a race; it's an opportunity to experience breathtaking scenery while supporting a profound cause. The 5K course, an out-and-back route, begins and ends at Competitive Timing's arch directly in front of the charming Lake Baked bakery. Runners will journey along the back of town before ascending towards the Bigfork Nature Trail, where the path opens to the beautiful and scenic Wild Mile Nature Trail. A water station at the halfway/turnaround point, generously provided by the Montana Department of the Military Order of the Purple Heart, will keep participants hydrated.

This event is open to all ages and abilities, creating a festive atmosphere for families and friends to gather before Bigfork's 4th of July parade. Race day check-in at Lake Baked begins at 7:30 AM, with the race starting promptly at 9:00 AM. Typical race day conditions on July 4th in Bigfork include comfortable highs around 78°F and lows around 50°F, with only a 7% chance of precipitation, promising ideal running weather. All participants are rewarded at the finish line with well-deserved cookies and medals, celebrating their accomplishment and contribution.
