2025 Hot Dog Run

Lace up your running shoes and leash up your furry best friend for the 11th Annual Hot Dog Run, returning to Midland, TX, on Saturday, May 2, 2026! This beloved dog-friendly event, which has been gaining momentum since its inception in 2015, invites human and canine participants of all ages and abilities to tackle either a 5K or 1-mile course. The scenic route winds around the Midland College campus, offering a relatively flat terrain ideal for both seasoned runners and casual walkers, ensuring plenty of opportunity for socialization among pets and their owners.

Beyond the joy of running with your four-legged companion, the Hot Dog Run serves as a vital fundraiser for the Midland Humane Coalition, supporting their mission to rescue homeless pets and help Midland become a no-kill community. Participants can look forward to a festive atmosphere, complete with custom event medals, fun swag, and post-race refreshments. Hydration will be readily available at aid stations positioned every half mile for both humans and animals, ensuring everyone stays refreshed. A unique highlight of the event is the lively Pet Costume Competition, offering fabulous prizes for the most creatively dressed pups. Typical race day conditions in early May feature comfortable highs around 84°F and lows near 56°F, with a low 4% chance of precipitation, creating pleasant weather for this heartwarming community race.
