Lace up for the 2026 Belmont AAPI Run 5K & 2K Race, marking its fifth anniversary on Sunday, May 3rd, 2026, in the charming community of Belmont, MA. This cherished local tradition invites runners and walkers of all ages and abilities to celebrate and amplify the voices of Asian American and Pacific Islander residents, fostering a vibrant atmosphere of fitness, friendship, and community spirit. Both the competitive, USATF-certified, chip-timed 5K and the fun, chip-timed 2K races begin and end at the Belmont High School track, providing a festive start and finish line experience for all participants.
The 5K route guides runners through the picturesque Winn Brook neighborhood, following the established Becca Pizzi 5K course. Those opting for the 2K will enjoy a flat, scenic loop passing by Claypit Pond near the high school, utilizing the familiar FBE Apple Run 2K course. As you complete your race, expect typical early May conditions with highs around 68F and lows near 44F, accompanied by a low 14% chance of precipitation—ideal weather for a rewarding run. Beyond the course, runners will appreciate ample support, including portable restrooms and on-site medical assistance from the Belmont Fire Department EMS Bike Unit. The first 350 registrants will also receive a unique, quick-dry running shirt featuring a newly designed gardenia logo, symbolizing the diverse origins and unity of AAPI communities.
The celebration continues post-race with complimentary refreshments like fresh bread, bagels, water, and bananas for all, along with a special Moozy's ice cream sandwich for every runner under 18. Participants can also take advantage of free massage and stretching sessions offered by Bay State Physical Therapy. This event proudly supports AAPI-focused programs hosted by the Belmont Chinese American Association (BCAA) and Belmont Celebrates AAPI Heritage (BCAH), with proceeds also benefiting the Belmont Media Center. Join hundreds of fellow runners and walkers for a memorable race day that’s more than just a run—it’s a powerful community statement.
