2026 Corrida de Los Locos

Embark on an exhilarating start to your running season at the 2026 Corrida de Los Locos, scheduled for Saturday, March 7th, in the scenic landscape of Santa Fe, New Mexico. This enduring event, celebrating its 41st edition, offers both a challenging 5-mile race and a spirited 1-mile Kids Fun Run, making it a fantastic experience for runners of all ages and abilities. The race commences and concludes at the Municipal Recreation Sports Complex, located at 205 Caja Del Rio Road.

Runners will navigate an out-and-back course along the Camino Real Trail, a route characterized by some hills and a trail surface. As you push your limits, you'll be treated to wonderful panoramic views of the majestic Jemez Mountains and the Sangre de Cristo mountains, providing a breathtaking backdrop to your efforts. Typical race day conditions in early March present crisp air with highs around 55°F and lows around 25°F, alongside a minimal 3% chance of precipitation, creating ideal cool-weather running conditions. A water station is planned at the turnaround point on the Camino Real Trail to support participants.

More than just a race, the Corrida de Los Locos holds a special place as Santa Fe's beloved "off-season" running event, deeply rooted in community spirit. It proudly supports local student-athletes by funding scholarships through the Santa Fe Striders. Post-race, participants can look forward to snacks and an awards ceremony, celebrating achievements across various age groups. Packet pickup is conveniently located at the Municipal Recreation Sports Complex softball concession stand before the races, with ample parking available at softball field #5.
