Get ready to celebrate Independence Day with a spirited 3.1-mile challenge at the 2026 Freedom 5k in picturesque Keystone Heights, FL, on July 4th. This race offers a unique opportunity to immerse yourself in a vibrant small-town celebration, benefiting the Jordan Cooper Memorial Scholarship Fund, which supports local graduating high school seniors. The course, known for being well-shaded, winds through the charming neighborhoods surrounding Keystone Heights Elementary School, featuring rolling hills for an engaging and scenic run.
Runners will begin and end their journey at Keystone Heights City Hall, located at 555 Lawrence Boulevard. Water stations are conveniently placed at mile 1, 2.25, and the start/finish area to keep participants hydrated under typical race day conditions, which can see highs around 91F and lows around 72F, with a 24% chance of precipitation. This professionally chip-timed event by Florida Race Day welcomes all abilities, including participants with wheelchairs and strollers. The first 400 finishers will proudly receive a medal, and awards will be presented to the top three overall male and female finishers, as well as top performers across various age categories and the wheelchair division.
