2026 GCR Firecracker 5K

Celebrate Independence Day with a spirited 3.12-mile challenge at the 2026 GCR Firecracker 5K, set for Thursday, July 4th, in beautiful Naples, FL. This beloved community event, organized by Gulf Coast Runners, welcomes runners, run/walkers, and walkers alike to experience a scenic double loop course winding through Lake Park. The race kicks off promptly at 7 AM, offering an energetic start to your holiday festivities. Typical race day conditions in early July bring highs around 91F and lows around 76F, with a 29% chance of precipitation, so prepare for a warm Florida morning.

The GCR Firecracker 5K is renowned for its festive atmosphere and commitment to giving back, with proceeds directly benefiting the Gulf Coast Runners Youth Development Fund. Participants will receive a commemorative T-shirt at packet pick-up and a well-deserved finisher medal upon crossing the line. Age group awards will be presented five deep, recognizing top performers across various categories. For families, a special Kids Race, a fun half-mile loop, begins at 6:45 AM, starting and ending at the 5K finish line in Fleischmann Park, located at 1600 Fleischmann Blvd.

Packet pick-up is convenient, available on July 3rd from 11 AM to 2 PM at Naples on the Run, or on race day beginning at 5:30 AM in Fleischmann Park. The race start is positioned near the water treatment plant on 10th St. N. Beyond the run, extend your 4th of July celebration by joining the GCR Freedom Swim at 10:30 AM at Lowdermilk Park, making for a truly memorable Independence Day experience in Southwest Florida.
