2026 Shoreline Turkey Trot 5K

Get ready to kick off your Thanksgiving Day with the 2026 Shoreline Turkey Trot 5K, a beloved holiday tradition returning to West Haven, CT, on Thursday, November 26th. This popular 5K race, now in its 6th year, promises a truly picturesque experience along what organizers call "the most beautiful course in Connecticut!". Runners will enjoy a fast and flat, paved course free of car traffic, winding along the scenic Savin Rock Boardwalk, offering refreshing coastal breezes and stunning views of the rising sun. With typical race day conditions seeing highs around 50F and lows around 34F, and only a 14% chance of precipitation, it's usually perfect weather for a brisk morning run.

The festive atmosphere begins at the Savin Rock Conference Center Exterior at 6 Rock St., which serves as the hub for registration, porta-potties, and the awards ceremony. Parking is plentiful both at the conference center and next door at Jimmie's. Beyond the scenic route, the Shoreline Turkey Trot is distinguished by its commitment to community, hosting a food drive for W.H.E.A.T., a local food pantry supporting low-income residents. Participants can also look forward to a guaranteed short-sleeve tech race shirt, Poland Spring Water at the finish line, and free downloadable race photos and finisher certificates. Custom awards are presented to the overall top three men and women, as well as to winners across all 5-year age divisions, from 5-9 to 80+. The race is chip-timed with both gun and net times, and results are conveniently texted and emailed upon finishing.
