Lace up for an unforgettable journey at the 3 Bridges 5K & 10K, set to take place on Saturday, March 7, 2026, in scenic Augusta, Georgia. Offering both 3.1-mile (5K) and 6.2-mile (10K) distances, this event has earned the esteemed title of "Best 5K in Augusta," promising a race experience that runners and walkers alike will cherish.
The course itself is a highlight, featuring a gorgeous, paved out-and-back route along the River Levee Trail within the picturesque Augusta Canal National Heritage Area. Runners will enjoy stunning scenery as they traverse three beautiful bridges spanning the Savannah River and Augusta Canal. Both races begin and conclude at the convenient Lake Olmstead Trailhead. The 10K course extends beyond the initial three miles of the 5K, continuing further along the canal path past the pump station before returning to the trailhead. Aid stations are well-placed, with a water stop and restrooms near the second bridge (around mile 1 and 1.6 for both distances), and additional water, Gatorade, and restrooms for 10K participants at the Pump Station (approximately miles 3.7 and 5).
Participants can anticipate pleasant typical race day conditions, with highs around 68°F and lows around 48°F, accompanied by a low 14% chance of precipitation. Beyond the personal challenge, the 3 Bridges race proudly supports the Augusta Canal National Heritage Area through a cash donation, contributing to the vital maintenance and improvement of its trails. This commitment to preserving Augusta's natural beauty truly makes this event a unique and rewarding experience.
