30th Annual Fire Ant Tour

Embark on a scenic journey through the heart of Gatesville, Texas, at the 30th Annual Fire Ant Tour on Saturday, June 13, 2026. This beloved cycling event, hosted by the Gatesville Exchange Club, invites riders to explore the beautiful paved county roads of Coryell County, offering routes of approximately 11, 32, 50 miles, and a challenging 100K (about 61 miles) to suit every skill level. With a mass start at 7:15 AM from the Gatesville Civic Center, participants can also opt for a flexible start time until 8:00 AM. Your participation supports a great cause, as all proceeds benefit local scholarships for Gatesville High School seniors and various community service projects.

Riders will find ample support throughout the tour with SAG (Support and Gear) stations strategically placed every 10 to 13 miles, providing refreshments and assistance, along with available porta-potties. SAG wagons will also patrol all routes to ensure a safe and smooth experience for everyone. Typical race day conditions in June see highs around 94°F and lows around 71°F, with a modest 12% chance of precipitation, making for a warm yet potentially refreshing ride. E-bikes are welcomed and encouraged, fostering an inclusive atmosphere for all cyclists.

The Fire Ant Tour is celebrated for its exceptional amenities and welcoming atmosphere. Upon crossing the finish line back at the Gatesville Civic Center, cyclists are treated to a well-deserved meal in air-conditioned comfort. Each participant's SWAG bag includes a free pass to a local fitness center or pool for a hot shower, a unique perk that enhances the post-ride experience. Additionally, riders have the chance to win exciting door prizes, with early registration often guaranteeing a coveted Fire Ant T-Shirt and finisher medal. This long-standing event, drawing over 230 cyclists from across Texas in previous years, is highly recommended for its memorable routes and community spirit.
