Get ready for a festive fall run at the 3rd Annual Ghost-to-Gobble 5k & 1-Mile, set to take place on Saturday, November 7, 2026, in Conway, Arkansas. This popular event, which kicked off with an incredibly successful inaugural race in 2024, offers both a chip-timed 5K and a family-friendly 1-Mile fun run, perfect for runners of all ages and abilities. The USATF-certified 5K course winds through the beautiful University of Central Arkansas (UCA) campus, taking participants past iconic landmarks such as Estes Stadium, Reynolds Performance Hall, Harding Fountain, Old Main, and along Stone Dam Creek, with cheering students providing an energetic atmosphere.
What makes the Ghost-to-Gobble truly unique is its playful blend of Halloween and Thanksgiving themes. Runners are encouraged to embrace the spirit by donning their spookiest Halloween costumes, best turkey trot outfits, or even festive holiday sweaters for a chance to win "Best Costume" awards. Typical race day conditions in early November in Conway feature pleasant highs around 64°F and lows near 40°F, with only a 14% chance of precipitation, providing ideal running weather. The 5K course includes one aid station to support runners, with Conway Fire Department and UCA Athletic Trainers on site for any emergencies.
Beyond the fun and miles, the Ghost-to-Gobble 5k & 1-Mile also supports a great cause, with 10% of all profits benefiting Special Olympics Arkansas. The remaining proceeds are dedicated to UCA's Exercise & Sport Science and Physical Therapy departments, funding research, scholarships, national conferences, and free community therapy services. The start and finish lines are conveniently located on the UCA campus at 201 Donaghey Ave, with ample parking available in nearby campus lots.
