5th Annual 5K Firecracker Run

This popular 3.1-mile race kicks off promptly at 8:00 AM from the intersection of Bay & Newcastle Streets, inviting runners to experience a certified 5K course that showcases the best of the Lowcountry.

The scenic route guides participants through charming historic downtown Beaufort before taking them over the iconic Woods Memorial Bridge to Lady's Island. Runners will then continue down Meridian Road to Youmans Drive, turning back along the same picturesque path to finish at Freedom Mall on Bay Street. This unique course, with its bridge crossing, offers both beautiful views and an engaging challenge. Typical race day conditions in early July include highs around 91°F and lows around 74°F, with a 17% chance of precipitation, so runners should prepare for a warm start to their holiday.
