7th Annual Flag Run 5k

Lace up your patriotic running shoes for the 7th Annual Flag Run 5k, a beloved community tradition celebrating Independence Day in Boerne, Texas, on July 4, 2026. Originating from a father-and-friend tradition of running with flags on the Fourth of July, this race has grown into a vibrant celebration of freedom and fitness, expecting over 600 participants this year.

The race kicks off and concludes at the historic Boerne Main Plaza, guiding participants through scenic downtown neighborhoods. Runners can expect a course with a few turns and a small incline leading into the finish, offering a dynamic and engaging experience. Typical race day conditions in early July include highs around 92F and lows around 71F, with only a 10% chance of precipitation, making for a warm but generally dry morning. Aid stations providing water and other refreshments will be available throughout the course to support runners.
