9/11 Commemorative 5K Run/Walk

This sixth annual event offers a poignant opportunity to honor the heroes of 9/11 while fostering a vibrant atmosphere of remembrance and community spirit. Participants are encouraged to don their red, white, and blue attire, transforming the City of Graham – City Hall Campus into a patriotic display.

More than just a race, this event boasts unique features that make it a truly special experience. Compete in the "First Responders Team Cup 5K," an exciting challenge for fire, police, EMS, and military teams. The event also serves a vital charitable cause, collecting donations for the Children of Fallen Heroes organization, which provides crucial support to the surviving spouses and children of fallen First Responders and Military heroes. Beyond the 5K Run/Walk and a non-competitive 1-Mile Run/Walk, the day is packed with family-friendly activities, including a "Touch A Truck" area, games, and live music from a DJ. While a new route is slated for 2026 with details forthcoming, the 5K is currently described as six laps and the 1-Mile as two laps, suggesting a dynamic course around the City Hall Campus. Support will be available at a dedicated Runner Services station located in the fire bays.
