Arbor Day 5K

Lace up for an inspiring and inclusive event at the 38th Annual Arbor Day 5K & Disability Challenge, set to take place on Saturday, February 28, 2026, in beautiful Biloxi, Mississippi. This cherished tradition welcomes participants of all ages and abilities to Point Cadet Park at 121 Cadet Street for a day of fitness and community spirit. Runners can choose between a chip-timed 5K run/walk or the accessible 1 Mile and 0.25 Mile Disability Challenge, specifically designed to ensure everyone, including those in racing wheelchairs, can experience the thrill of crossing the finish line. The course features a flat, USATF-certified route, offering a pleasant experience with the invigorating cool air off the water, typical of the coastal setting.

This event stands out for its strong commitment to inclusion and fostering healthy lifestyles. It's a "run/walk/roll" event, partnering with the esteemed Gulf Coast Running Club, Disability Connection, and the City of Biloxi. All proceeds directly benefit Disability Connection, supporting vital programs for individuals with disabilities. Participants can look forward to comfortable running weather, with typical race day conditions seeing highs around 68F and lows near 50F, and only a 14% chance of precipitation.

Beyond the race itself, the Arbor Day 5K & Disability Challenge is a vibrant community gathering. Every participant receives a commemorative t-shirt, and in true Arbor Day spirit, free trees are distributed while supplies last. Additionally, those facing challenges to running are awarded a special medal, emphasizing that effort and participation are celebrated above all else. Join approximately 500 annual participants for an unforgettable day that combines fitness, community support, and a meaningful cause, with the 5K kicking off at 9:00 AM and the other distances following at 9:45 AM.
