Arbor Day 5k & Disability Challenge

Lace up for an inspiring and community-focused event at the 38th Annual Arbor Day 5k & Disability Challenge on Saturday, February 28, 2026, in beautiful Biloxi, Mississippi. This cherished tradition, held at Point Cadet Park at 121 Cadet Street, offers a unique opportunity to run, walk, or roll with purpose. Participants can choose between a chip-timed 5K run/walk or the accessible 0.25M Disability Challenge, designed to ensure everyone, including those using racing wheelchairs, can experience the joy of crossing a finish line. The 5K kicks off at 9:00 AM, with the 0.25M event following at 9:45 AM.

Hosted in partnership with the esteemed Gulf Coast Running Club, Disability Connection, and the City of Biloxi, this event is celebrated for its commitment to inclusion and fostering healthy lifestyles across all abilities. The course itself offers a flat, USATF-certified route, providing a pleasant experience with the invigorating cool air off the water, typical of the coastal setting. With typical race day conditions seeing highs around 68F and lows near 50F, and only a 14% chance of precipitation, it promises comfortable running weather.

Beyond the race, the Arbor Day 5k & Disability Challenge is a vibrant community gathering. All proceeds directly benefit Disability Connection, supporting vital programs for individuals with disabilities. Every participant receives a commemorative t-shirt, and in true Arbor Day spirit, free trees are distributed while supplies last. Those facing challenges to running are awarded a special medal, emphasizing that effort and participation are celebrated above all else.
