Prepare to embark on an unforgettable winter trail running adventure at the Arches Ultra Charity Bibs, set against the stunning backdrop of Moab, Utah, on January 31, 2026. This esteemed event, part of the "Run Moab Series" and the "Triple Crown of Moab," offers distances for every ambitious runner: a 50M, 50K, and 13.1M Half Marathon. The course itself is a marvel, boasting lower elevations that provide panoramic views of towering Moab cliffs, the iconic Arches National Park, and the distant, snow-capped La Sal Mountains.
Runners will navigate the diverse and engaging terrain of the Bar M, Klonzo, and Klondike Trail Systems, experiencing a dynamic mix of smooth paths, technical slickrock, and even some sandy sections. A truly unique highlight includes running past actual dinosaur tracks in Utahraptor State Park, adding a prehistoric touch to your modern-day challenge. While the scenery is breathtaking, runners should be prepared for the course's challenging nature, particularly the uneven and undulating slickrock, which many find mentally and physically demanding. The 50-mile course features an elevation gain of 4,524 feet, the 50K has 2,894 feet of gain, and the half marathon includes 873 feet.
Typical race day conditions in late January for Moab include highs around 47°F and lows around 22°F, with a minimal 3% chance of precipitation, offering crisp winter desert running weather. Aid stations are strategically spaced throughout the course and are cupless, requiring participants to bring their own reusable hydration vessels, which can be refilled at water dispensers. Drop bags are also available for the longer distances, ensuring runners have access to necessary supplies. All distances start and finish at the Gemini Bridges Trailhead, located at Seven Mile RV Park, approximately 20 minutes north of Moab on US-191. Carpooling is highly encouraged due to limited parking at the venue. Participants can expect a custom race shirt, a BOCO Gear Technical Trucker Hat, and a unique finisher's medal, with a lively post-race celebration to cap off an incredible day on the trails.
