Back The Track 5K and Woodford Track Challenge

Lace up your running shoes for the Back The Track 5K and Woodford Track Challenge, set for an exciting evening on Friday, August 14, 2026, in Versailles, Kentucky. This community-focused event features a chip-timed 5K run/walk and an untimed 1-mile fun run/walk, both starting and finishing on the new track at Woodford County High School. Participants are encouraged to wear their best black and gold attire to show support, as proceeds directly benefit the Woodford County Track Club and local public school track and field programs. Typical race day conditions in mid-August see comfortable evening temperatures, with highs around 84°F and lows around 65°F, and only a 16% chance of precipitation.

The 5K course offers a smooth experience, guiding runners on paved surfaces through the school complex and the Falling Springs Bypass. While enjoying the run, expect a festive atmosphere complete with music, food, and fellowship for a great cause. All 5K finishers will receive a commemorative race shirt, and top performers in the 5K will be recognized with awards for the top three overall male and female finishers, as well as the top three in various five-year age divisions. Free race photos will also be available to capture your efforts.
