This no-frills event, now in its sixth year, is passionately organized by ultrarunners for ultrarunners, making it an ideal choice for both seasoned veterans and those looking to tackle their first ultra. Choose your challenge from 100M, 100K, 50M, 50K, or a 12M run/ruck, knowing that every stride supports the OneSolePurpose project, providing new shoes to elementary students in Title 1 School Districts.

The course itself is an out-and-back 10-mile loop, winding through scenic, tree-lined country views on packed gravel roads. Expect typical Ozark rolling hills, with some runners noting it to be a bit hillier than anticipated, offering a rewarding challenge. Typical race day conditions in mid-August feature highs around 87F and lows around 66F, with a 14% chance of precipitation, so prepare for a warm and potentially humid experience. Aid stations are strategically placed at the start/finish, serving as a fully stocked hub with hot quesadillas, and a minimally stocked one at the turnaround point, ensuring you have the hydration and fuel needed to conquer the course.

Beyond the personal accomplishment, the Bad Dawg Ultra offers a truly supportive atmosphere. Family and crew are welcome at the main aid station to cheer you on, and a complimentary pasta dinner the night before fosters camaraderie among participants.
