Big Easy in Little Elm

Get ready to experience the vibrant spirit of Mardi Gras at the 12th annual Big Easy in Little Elm, happening on Saturday, February 28, 2026, in Little Elm, TX. This unique event kicks off at Little Elm Park, inviting runners of all ages to join the Mardi Gras-themed 5K or a festive 1K Fun Run. The course promises a scenic, flat experience, winding through the picturesque Lakefront™ area, offering beautiful views as you run.

What sets the Big Easy apart is its lively, celebratory atmosphere that extends well beyond the finish line. Typical race day conditions in late February offer mild temperatures, with highs around 62°F and lows around 40°F, and only a 10% chance of precipitation, creating a pleasant evening for your run. Participants are highly encouraged to embrace the Mardi Gras theme with colorful costumes, with awards given for the best-dressed male, female, and krewe (a group of 5-10 people). All participants receive a race t-shirt, and the first 1000 registered for the 5K will also earn a finisher's medal.

The post-race celebration transforms Little Elm Park into a Cajun paradise, featuring an authentic crawfish boil, a King Cake Eating Contest, live music from bands like SPAZMATICS, food trucks, vendors, and an enchanting hot air balloon glow.
