Experience the unparalleled beauty and challenge of the Biltmore Kiwanis Classic on Sunday, May 17, 2026, in Asheville, NC. This celebrated event, now in its 26th year, offers both a scenic 5K and a challenging 15K, providing a truly unique opportunity to run within the magnificent Biltmore Estate grounds. Since 1997, the race has been a cornerstone of the Asheville running community and serves as the largest annual fundraiser for the Asheville Kiwanis Club, dedicated to supporting children and families in the local community.

Both USATF-certified courses begin and end in the charming Antler Hill Village, near the Biltmore Estate Winery and Hotel. The 15K route features a varied terrain with an approximate 632 feet of elevation gain, including climbs towards Deerpark Restaurant and the iconic Biltmore House, followed by exhilarating downhill and flat sections. Runners will be treated to breathtaking views as they pass through the historic Walled Garden, Rose Gardens, Conservatory, Azalea Garden, and along the French Broad River. The 5K offers a picturesque out-and-back journey along the French Broad River to the Biltmore Lagoon. Typical race day conditions in mid-May present comfortable highs around 77°F and lows around 55°F, with a low 13% chance of precipitation, ideal for enjoying the stunning scenery designed by Frederick Law Olmsted.

Runners can expect well-supported courses with multiple aid stations providing water and electrolytes, as well as restrooms and port-a-johns along the routes, particularly for the longer 15K distance. While the serene setting offers a less crowded race experience, the dedicated volunteers ensure a positive atmosphere. All registrations include a finisher medal, t-shirt, collectible bib, chip timing, and estate entry for the morning of the race, allowing participants to soak in the historical grandeur. The Biltmore Kiwanis Classic is more than just a race; it's a memorable journey through American history and natural beauty, earning its spot on many runners' "best race" and "bucket list" events.
