Birthday Bash 5K and 1K

Get ready to celebrate fitness and fun at the annual Birthday Bash 5K and 1K, hosted by =PR= Races! Taking place on Sunday, July 19, 2026, in Fairfax, VA, this beloved event marks Potomac River Running's 22nd anniversary, inviting runners of all ages and abilities to join the festivities. Choose your challenge with either a 5K or a 1K Fun Run, both offering virtual options as well.

The race unfolds on a paved, wide course through Fairfax Corner, providing a smooth and accessible experience for every participant. The start and finish lines, along with exciting post-race activities, are conveniently located in the vibrant Fairfax Corner plaza, making for an energetic atmosphere. Participants can look forward to a celebration featuring cupcakes, raffles, and engagement with favorite brands. All pre-registered runners receive an exclusive soft-style =PR= t-shirt, a unique race bib, free race day photos, and a digital finisher certificate. Medals are awarded to all "tot trot" participants in the 1K, ensuring everyone feels accomplished. Typical race day conditions in mid-July include highs around 86°F and lows near 67°F, with a modest 13% chance of precipitation.

Known for being a high-quality event from =PR= Races, the Birthday Bash offers more than just a run; it's a community celebration. Awards are presented to the top three overall male and female finishers, as well as to the top three male and female age group finishers in five-year increments from 14 and under through 80 and over.
