About This Race

Saddle up for the Blazing Saddles trail race on Saturday, March 14, 2026, in the scenic rolling hills of Hanover, Pennsylvania. Hosted by the York Road Runners Club and York Ridge Runners at Codorus State Park's Pavilion #3, this event offers a challenging and rewarding experience across 50K, 25K, and 8-mile distances. Runners will navigate the Ranger Trail, featuring a dynamic mix of singletrack, horse trails, and less than a mile of road, with approximately 95% of the course on unpaved terrain. Expect runnable hills and beautiful natural surroundings throughout your journey.

The course is designed for those who embrace the unpredictable nature of trail running. The 8 Miler consists of one loop, the 25K two loops, and the 50K a demanding four loops of the challenging trail. An aid station conveniently located at mile 8 provides water, electrolyte drinks, and hearty trail food to keep you fueled. March weather in Pennsylvania can be "wilder than a bull on branding day," so be prepared for anything from cold temperatures (typical lows around 29F) to possible rain, snow, or mud, with typical highs around 50F and a 12% chance of precipitation. "Cowboy hats optional, traction mandatory" is the unofficial motto for a reason!

Beyond the personal challenge, the Blazing Saddles race is committed to a noble cause, with all proceeds supporting a local animal rescue. This community-focused event also celebrates top finishers with prizes for the first three men and women in each distance. Whether you're tackling your first trail race or a seasoned ultra-runner, Blazing Saddles promises an exhilarating day of grit, determination, and stunning Pennsylvania wilderness.
