Prepare for an unforgettable journey into Nevada's rugged high-desert landscape at the inaugural Boom or Bust Ultra Trail Run on June 13, 2026. Set on the newly constructed single-track Prospector Trails just outside Pioche, this race offers distances of 100M, 60M, and 30M, inviting runners to test their limits amidst breathtaking scenery. The course unfolds as a semi-challenging 14-mile loop, featuring 12.5 miles of flowing single-track and a 1.5-mile quad two-track road, designed to showcase panoramic views of the high-desert valleys and surrounding mountain ranges. Each lap brings a significant 1440 feet of elevation gain and loss, promising a dynamic and engaging challenge for every participant.

Runners can anticipate typical race day conditions with highs around 87F and lows of 46F, with only a 2% chance of precipitation, making for a classic high-desert ultra experience. The event is meticulously supported with two well-stocked aid stations: the Mineshaft Aid Station, strategically located at a 6-way intersection and encountered multiple times per lap, and the Mining Camp Aid Station at the start/finish area. Both stations will provide essential sustenance including food, broth, fruit, soda, water, and Tailwind Electrolytes. Drop bags are permitted at the Mineshaft Aid Station, and pacers are welcome for 100M and 60M runners from the fourth lap (mile 42), with those aged 60 and older having the option of a pacer for their entire race.

The Boom or Bust Ultra is poised to become a must-do event for trail runners seeking a genuine high-desert adventure. With a course crafted to balance challenge and scenic reward, along with comprehensive runner support, this race offers a unique opportunity to connect with nature and push personal boundaries. Whether you're tackling the daunting 100-mile distance, the formidable 60-mile challenge, or the robust 30-mile run, you'll be part of a pioneering event exploring the beauty and grit of Pioche's historic mining country.
