Lace up for the 10th annual Brandon Russell's Flash Dash on Saturday, June 6, 2026, in the heart of North Kansas City, MO. This commemorative event offers a flat, fast course through the streets of North Kansas City, providing an excellent opportunity for personal bests or an enjoyable stroll through the urban landscape, including views of the NKC trainyard and warehouses. Participants can choose from a chip-timed 5K run/walk, an untimed 1 Mile walk, or the popular 0.5 Mile Kid's Dash, ensuring a distance for every member of the family. A virtual run/walk option is also available for those who wish to participate remotely.
Beginning and ending at 18th and Fayette Street, the Flash Dash is more than just a race; it's a vibrant community gathering honoring the life of Brandon Lee Russell, who passed away doing what he loved most – running. Proceeds from the event benefit the Brandon Russell Memorial Foundation, dedicated to enriching lives through compassion, fitness, and forging lasting bonds, with a portion of this year's proceeds also supporting Children's Mercy Heart Center. Runners can expect well-supported routes with at least one water aid station to keep hydrated. Typical race day conditions in early June include comfortable highs around 85°F and lows around 67°F, with a modest 17% chance of precipitation, creating generally favorable running weather.
Every participant receives a race t-shirt and a finisher's medal to commemorate their achievement. Packet pickup will be available on Friday, June 5th, at a location to be announced, as well as on race day morning. Ample parking is conveniently located near the start/finish line off Armour Road, between Fayette Street and Howell Street. Join the Brandon Russell's Flash Dash for a day of fitness, community spirit, and a meaningful tribute.
