Gear up for a delightful cycling experience at the C3 Rolling Donuts ride, set for Saturday, September 26, 2026, in picturesque Centreville, MD. This late-season cycling event offers riders a choice of three distances: a challenging 100-mile (Century), a rewarding 62-mile (Metric Century), and an accessible 33-mile route. Riders can anticipate typical race day conditions with highs around 78°F and lows around 59°F, and a low 12% chance of precipitation. Known for its welcoming atmosphere, the ride embraces a unique "donut" theme, starting with Dunkin' Donuts coffee and pastries from 6:00 AM to 8:30 AM, and even features a "Sprinkles" Donut Mascot for fun photo opportunities.
The courses guide cyclists through the beautiful and historic Eastern Shore of Maryland, featuring scenic farmlands, breathtaking water views, and charming small towns. While the region is generally flat, offering a "flat, fast, and fun" ride for many, the 100-mile route does present a surprising challenge with over 2000 feet of elevation gain, a notable characteristic for the Eastern Shore. All routes are fully marked and supported with SAG assistance, ensuring a smooth and safe journey. Fully-stocked rest stops are strategically placed along each course, providing essential refreshments and, of course, more donuts.
Starting and finishing at the Queen Anne's County 4-H Park, the C3 Rolling Donuts ride ensures a festive atmosphere from beginning to end. Beyond the morning fuel, participants can look forward to a complimentary lunch from the Pupuseria Kent Island Food Truck, serving a variety of tacos from 11:00 AM to 3:00 PM. The celebration continues with live music from the KG Band and a complimentary beer, creating a vibrant post-ride party. Each participant also receives commemorative Chesapeake Cycling Club (C3) Rolling Donuts cycling socks, making this event a truly sweet and memorable experience for cyclists of all levels.
