CBIZ Workplace Challenge

The CBIZ Workplace Challenge invites you to a unique 3.5-mile run/walk event on Tuesday, July 28, 2026, at the iconic Jones Beach State Park in Wantagh, NY. This isn't just a race; it's Long Island's largest corporate run/walk for charity and its biggest office picnic, blending fitness with fantastic team-building, networking, and morale-boosting opportunities. Since its inception in 2006, the event, formerly known as the Marcum Workplace Challenge, has raised over $1.4 million for local charity beneficiaries, making every step count.

The flat, scenic course at Jones Beach provides an accessible experience for all, with mile markers every half-mile to guide you. The start and finish lines are conveniently located in the middle of Parking Field 5, which also hosts the vibrant post-race celebration. Runners and walkers alike are well-supported with a pre-race water stop, additional water stops at miles 1, 2, and 3, and a final water stop after crossing the finish line, where ice bags are also distributed. While there's a competitive element attracting serious runners, approximately 50% of participants are walkers, ensuring a welcoming atmosphere for all paces. Typical race day conditions in late July feature highs around 84F and lows around 70F, with a low chance of precipitation at 13%.

Beyond the race itself, the CBIZ Workplace Challenge is a true summer highlight for the Long Island business community. Companies, organizations, and governmental agencies form teams, and friends and family are encouraged to join in the festivities. Remember to register in advance, as there is no day-of-race registration. The evening event typically kicks off with the race start at 7:00 PM, followed by the lively "office picnic" atmosphere.
