Embark on an unforgettable trail adventure at the Cliffs Of The Neuse Trail Run & Hike on March 21, 2026, in the scenic setting of Seven Springs, NC. This popular event offers a diverse range of distances, including a challenging 50K ultra, a spirited 25K, and accessible 8M and 4M runs, plus a 4M hike option, making it perfect for every level of trail enthusiast. Runners can anticipate typical race day conditions with highs around 68F and lows around 44F, with only an 11% chance of precipitation, providing ideal weather for hitting the trails.

The courses promise an engaging experience with primarily beautiful single and double track trails, featuring a short section of gravel road. Prepare for curvy trails with significant elevation changes, offering breathtaking views of the river and lake, alongside picturesque bridges and glimpses of the majestic 90-foot cliffs that give the park its name. The 4-mile loop includes about 225 feet of elevation gain, the 8-mile course features approximately 425 feet, and the 50K/25K laps each boast around 450 feet of gain, winding through diverse mixed pine and hardwood forests. Recent course improvements for 2025/2026 have enhanced the flow by eliminating major stairs and reducing dirt road sections, running loops counter-clockwise to tackle the significant inclines early.

The race starts and finishes conveniently at the big picnic shelter by the lake parking lot, equipped with ample parking and real bathrooms. Aid stations are strategically placed to support all distances: the 4M race has water at mile 2, while the 8M race offers water at miles 2 and 6. For 25K and 50K participants, comprehensive aid stations await at the start/finish of each lap, with additional water and restrooms twice per lap, providing essentials like water, Tailwind, Coke, bananas, pickles, chips, and more. All finishers who register in time will receive a sustainable wood medal, and 50K participants are treated to a pair of trusty socks. The post-race celebration includes delicious gluten-free and plant-based cookies, a small meal, and an awards ceremony, fostering camaraderie and a memorable experience.
