Lace up for an unforgettable experience at the Colorado 13er, featuring Half Marathon, 10K, and 5K distances, set to take place on June 7, 2026, in scenic Louisville, Colorado. This beloved event is renowned for seamlessly blending the best aspects of trail and road running, offering a kind-to-your-body course that appeals to both seasoned athletes and first-time racers. Runners can expect typical race day conditions with highs around 81F, lows near 50F, and only an 8% chance of precipitation, creating a pleasant environment for a fantastic run.
The Half Marathon course promises spectacular views of the iconic Flatirons, encompassing nine miles of crushed gravel on the picturesque Davidson Mesa Trail and Harper Lake Loop, complemented by approximately four miles of asphalt and concrete. While described as "runnable" with a relative lack of extreme elevation for a Colorado race, the half marathon does feature around 501 feet of elevation gain, including some challenging yet rewarding hills at miles 5.3 and 11.5, offering epic vista points. The 10K and 5K courses also feature a mix of asphalt, concrete, and crushed gravel, with the 5K being an out-and-back route that provides its own scenic beauty and manageable elevation. All races begin and finish at the Home Depot on Dillon Road, with ample nearby free parking available in designated Cinebarre or RTD lots.
Runners will find excellent support throughout their journey. The half marathon course boasts ten aid station passes, providing water and electrolyte drinks, with energy gels available at miles 5 and 10.5. The 10K features three water stations passed five times, and the 5K has one water station runners will pass twice. Porta-johns are conveniently located at the start/finish expo and at five points along the half marathon course, with one near the 10K turnaround. Beyond the well-supported course, participants will be treated to iced towels at the finish line and receive gender-specific performance tees and a finisher medal for the half marathon. The Colorado 13er stands out for its exceptionally scenic, looped design and the welcoming atmosphere fostered by a race crew dedicated to clear communication, ensuring a truly enjoyable event for all.
