Common Rush Trail Run

The Common Rush Trail Run, celebrating its 5th annual event on July 18, 2026, invites runners to experience the stunning natural beauty of Harris Lake County Park in New Hill, NC. Choose your challenge from either a 5-mile or 10-mile course, both promising a super-fun, mid-summer trail adventure. The course is renowned for its outstanding lake views, combining mellow single-track paths, scenic open fields, and wide dirt roads, making it fast and enjoyable with ample passing opportunities. With minimal technical terrain and modest elevation gains of approximately 211 feet for the 5-mile and 397 feet for the 10-mile course, this race is designed to be accessible yet engaging for a wide range of trail runners.

Runners can expect exceptional support throughout their journey. Well-stocked aid stations are strategically placed every 1-2 miles along the course, ensuring you stay hydrated and energized with a variety of offerings. The festive atmosphere is enhanced by great music, enthusiastic volunteer support, and a superbly marked course, so you can focus on the run. Typical race day conditions in mid-July include highs around 91°F and lows around 69°F, with about a 17% chance of precipitation, emphasizing the importance of hydration in the warm North Carolina summer.
