Lace up for the 41st annual Corrida de los Locos, a beloved Santa Fe tradition taking place on Saturday, March 7, 2026. This invigorating 5-mile race, alongside a spirited 1-mile Kids' Fun Run, kicks off from the Municipal Recreation Sports Complex at 205 Caja Del Rio Road. Runners will be treated to an out-and-back course along the scenic Camino Real Trail, offering stunning vistas of the Jemez Mountains and the Sangre de Cristo mountains. Prepare for a trail experience with some hills, where past years have seen predominantly dirt surfaces with minimal asphalt, embracing the inherent charm of trail running.

The Corrida de los Locos, known as Santa Fe's engaging off-season running event, provides a fantastic opportunity to test your early-spring fitness. Typical race day conditions in early March offer pleasant highs around 55°F and lows around 25°F, with only a 3% chance of precipitation, creating crisp, ideal running weather. Aid is available with a water station strategically located at the turnaround point on the Camino Real Trail.

Beyond the personal challenge and breathtaking scenery, participating in the Corrida de los Locos supports a great cause. The event proudly funds scholarships for graduating high school seniors in north-central New Mexico who have excelled in track and/or cross country, organized by the Santa Fe Striders.
