Cow Chip Classic Run/Walk

Lace up your running shoes for the 45th annual Cow Chip Classic Run/Walk, a beloved tradition held in conjunction with the Wisconsin State Cow Chip Throw on Saturday, September 5, 2026. Starting at 8:00 a.m. next to Marion Park in scenic Prairie du Sac, Wisconsin, this event offers both a challenging 10K run and a picturesque 5K run/walk, catering to all abilities. Runners will experience a beautiful journey through the Wisconsin countryside, beginning with a cross over the picturesque Wisconsin River.

The 10K route is known for its exhilarating climb up "Heartbreak Hill" before winding past the stunning Lake Wisconsin Golf course and looping back to the finish line at Marion Park. Meanwhile, 5K participants will enjoy a delightful stretch along Golf Road, offering enjoyable road running before returning to town. Typical race day conditions in early September include comfortable highs around 78°F and lows around 54°F, with a modest 14% chance of precipitation, providing an ideal environment for personal bests.
