Crescent Moon Chase

Embark on a captivating journey along the scenic Long Beach coastline at the Crescent Moon Chase on Sunday, February 22, 2026. This popular event, hosted by High Tide Runs, invites runners of all levels to "race for the moon" with distances including a Half Marathon (13.1M), 10M, 10K, and 5K. Participants will start at 5400 E Ocean Avenue, near Claremont Beach, and enjoy a fast and flat road course along the beach path, offering stunning ocean views as you run.

The Crescent Moon Chase is renowned for its low-pressure, high-vibe atmosphere, fostering an inclusive community where the journey is celebrated. The out-and-back course is well-supported, featuring a fully stocked water station at Belmont Pier and another at the finish line, complete with water, Gatorade, gels, and fruit snacks. High Tides Crew Members are CPR-trained, ensuring on-course safety, and turns are clearly marked. Runners should be aware that the beach path is an open course and are asked to stay to the right.

Typical race day conditions in Long Beach for late February offer pleasant running weather, with highs around 68°F and lows around 49°F, and only a 6% chance of precipitation. All finishers will proudly receive a medal, and overall first-place winners will also be awarded. Free race photos are provided via email the day after the event, allowing you to cherish your accomplishment. Gear check is available at the registration tent for your convenience.
