Crossroads Trail Run and Walk

Lace up your trail shoes for the 17th Annual Crossroads Trail Run and Walk, set to take place on Saturday, June 13, 2026, in the scenic Sturgeon Bay, Wisconsin. This beloved event, known as Door County's first trail run, welcomes participants of all ages and abilities to experience the beautiful Crossroads at Big Creek Nature Preserve. Runners and walkers can choose from a 10K, 5K, or 2K distance, with chip-timed results ensuring a smooth and competitive experience for all. Typical race day conditions in mid-June offer pleasant weather, with highs around 72°F and lows around 52°F, and only a 15% chance of precipitation.

The course itself offers a unique and engaging experience, beginning on a limestone path before transitioning to mostly grassy trails. Expect winding routes through picturesque wooded sections, where tall pines create a natural canopy overhead. While the course can be winding with several twists and turns, dedicated volunteers are on hand to guide participants. Aid stations are strategically placed to support runners, with two water stations on the 5K route and three on the 10K route. The race atmosphere is celebrated for its incredible volunteer support and supportive camaraderie.

Beyond the run, the Crossroads Trail Run is deeply committed to environmental stewardship; all proceeds directly support the mission of Crossroads at Big Creek, which inspires environmental education and outdoor experiences. A distinctive highlight of this event is that all participants receive a native tree, courtesy of Evergreen Nursery, and can enjoy delicious post-race snacks, including treats like vanilla ice cream with cherries and granola.
