DDC Mark Carpenter Memorial Falcon 5K

Lace up for a vibrant community tradition at the DDC Mark Carpenter Memorial Falcon 5K, set to take place on Saturday, August 8, 2026, in Dearborn, Michigan. This cherished annual event, celebrating its 33rd year, honors the memory of Mark Carpenter '68 and supports the Divine Child Alumni Association and the Divine Child High School Girls Cross Country Team. Runners can choose their challenge from a 5K, a 1-Mile Fun Run/Walk, or bring the youngest athletes for the Tot Trot, all starting on the Divine Child track.

The scenic course winds through the beautiful Divine Child campus, utilizing local streets before a triumphant finish on the track. Typical race day conditions in early August feature comfortable lows around 65F and highs near 84F, with only a 12% chance of precipitation, creating pleasant running weather. Participants will find a water station along the route and bottled water at the start and finish lines to stay hydrated.

Beyond the race, the DDC Mark Carpenter Memorial Falcon 5K is a true family affair. After crossing the finish line, celebrate with complimentary hot dogs and chips, generously provided by Dearborn Brand Sausage, alongside various family activities on the field and concourse. Awards will be given to the top three finishers in each age group for the 5K. This event promises a day of fitness, fun, and community spirit for all ages and abilities.
