Dennis 5 Mile Road Race

Join runners and walkers alike on Saturday, July 25, 2026, for the Annual Dennis 5 Mile Road Race in scenic South Dennis, MA. This long-standing community tradition offers participants a choice of a 5-mile run or a 3-mile walk, alongside a delightful 1-mile fun run for children, making it an ideal event for the whole family. The race proudly supports the Dennis Recreation Department Programs and Scholarships, directly benefiting local children and fostering community spirit.

The race kicks off at 10 AM from the Chapman Field at Wixon Property, also known as Wixon Middle School, serving as both the starting and finishing point. Typical race day conditions in late July see highs around 82°F and lows around 67°F, with a modest 12% chance of precipitation, offering pleasant summer running weather. Beyond the course, a vibrant post-race celebration awaits participants outside at Wixon School, complete with DPM food, beer for runners courtesy of Buncey's, and a raffle with various prizes. The first 100 online entrants also receive a complimentary t-shirt, adding to the festive atmosphere.
