Derby Day 5 miler & 5k

Lace up your running shoes for the Derby Day 5 miler & 5k, set to take place on Saturday, May 2, 2026, in Shreveport, Louisiana. This energetic event offers runners two distances: a challenging 5-mile course and a scenic 5K (3.1 miles), both kicking off at 7:30 AM CDT. Starting and finishing at D1 Training Facility (727 American Way), the courses wind through the picturesque Spring Lake area, providing a refreshing backdrop for your race efforts.

Runners can anticipate typical race day conditions with highs around 80°F and lows around 59°F, with a slight chance of precipitation. The Derby Day theme adds a festive atmosphere to the competition, celebrating fitness and community spirit. Top male and female finishers in both the 5-miler and 5K will be recognized with trophies and gift cards to Sportspectrum, and age group awards are also presented. Participants should note that per RRCA regulations, baby joggers, strollers, bikes, skate devices, and dogs are not permitted on the course.
