This highly anticipated event, part of the respected DINO MTB Series now in its 36th year, promises a fantastic day of mountain biking for every skill level. Racers will tackle an approximate 8-mile per lap course, designed to be beginner-friendly while still offering enough challenge to test seasoned riders. Potato Creek State Park provides a stunning backdrop, with trails winding through diverse natural habitats, including old fields, mature woodlands, restored prairies, and wetlands surrounding the beautiful 327-acre Worster Lake.

The course itself is renowned for its fast-flowing singletrack, featuring wooded hills, sections along creek beds, and flatter terrain. Riders can expect around 540 feet of elevation change per lap, characterized by moderate climbs and enjoyable downhills that help build momentum for a fluid ride. A small rock garden section adds an extra element of fun, with alternate paths available for varying challenge levels. Whether you're aiming for a personal best or simply enjoying the ride, the "Peppermint Hill Loop" trail system offers a great flow that encourages speed for advanced riders and a comfortable pace for newcomers. The DINO MTB Series at Potato Creek State Park offers a range of distances to suit all competitors: an 8-mile Intro race (one lap) perfect for first-timers, a Junior category (one lap) for younger riders, 8-mile Base and Clydesdale (one lap) options, a 16-mile Sport Women's race (two laps), a 24-mile Expert/Elite Women's race (three laps), a 24-mile Sport Men's race (three laps), and a challenging 32-mile Expert/Elite Men's race (four laps). Pre-riding is available on Friday evening or Saturday afternoon, and participants can also catch the XTERRA DINO Northern Indiana Triathlon happening on Saturday morning.
