Dirty Grass Soul Rockin’ and Running 5k

The Dirty Grass Soul Rockin’ and Running 5k offers a patriotic and musical start to your Independence Day, taking place on July 4, 2026, in Fallston, NC. This 3rd annual event features a 3.1-mile (5k) distance, with options for a timed 5k and a student 5k tailored for ages 5-17. Runners will embark on a scenic road course that begins and finishes at Fallston Elementary School. The route winds through charming local streets, including NC Hwy 18, Charolais Dr., Fallston-Waco Rd., NC 182 (Stage Coach Trail), and Boggs Dr., providing a pleasant running experience through the heart of Fallston.

This unique race stands out not only for its festive date but also for its heartwarming mission, as 100% of event proceeds directly support music education programs in Cleveland County Schools through the Dirty Grass Soul Music & Arts Fund. The event kicks off at 7:30 AM EDT, with typical race day conditions in early July presenting highs around 91F and lows around 65F, alongside a 14% chance of precipitation, so runners should prepare for a warm summer run. All finishers will proudly receive a commemorative medal, and competitive spirits will be rewarded with awards for the 1st overall male and female, as well as the top three in each age group.
