Dog Days 5K

Lace up for the annual Dog Days 5K on Saturday, July 11, 2026, in the charming community of Hudson, IL. The race kicks off at 6:00 PM CDT, with both the start and finish lines conveniently located next to the rustic Green Gables. Runners should be aware that the course is not closed to traffic, requiring careful attention to surroundings.

Participants can expect two well-placed water stops along the route to keep hydrated under typical race day conditions, which usually see highs around 86°F and lows around 63°F, with a 14% chance of precipitation. The Dog Days 5K is a USATF Certified Course, ensuring an accurately measured distance for those chasing personal bests. Awards will be presented to the top overall male and female finishers, as well as the top three in numerous age categories, from the youngest runners (8 & Under) to the most experienced (71 and Over).
