Lace up your trail shoes for the Double Trouble 9 Mile and 18 Mile Trail Runs, set to challenge and delight runners on July 26, 2026, in scenic Elverson, PA. Hosted by Pretzel City Sports in the beautiful French Creek State Park, this event is a highlight of the summer trail running calendar and a tentative point-scoring race in the USATF Mid-Atlantic Off-Road Series. Runners can tackle a single 9-mile loop or push their limits on the 18-mile double loop, with the unique flexibility to decide on a second loop mid-race and still qualify for awards.

The course, primarily flowing single track, offers a dynamic experience with rolling hills and picturesque views of the park's two lakes. Recent redesigns have smoothed out some of the toughest climbs and added sections of jeep road, promising a challenging yet enjoyable run through varied terrain that keeps you engaged. While still requiring attention to footwork on occasionally rocky paths, the course balances technical sections with more runnable stretches, making it appealing to a wide range of trail enthusiasts. Expect typical race day conditions to be warm, with highs around 85F and lows around 65F, along with a 19% chance of precipitation, providing a true summer trail experience.

The race begins at 9:00 AM from the French Creek State Park Pool Area (843 Park Rd, Elverson, PA), with registration opening at 7:45 AM. Aid stations are strategically placed approximately every three miles per loop, stocked with water, electrolyte drinks, and some munchies to keep you fueled. Post-race, enjoy modern amenities, ample parking, and a welcoming finish area that has historically included hot and cold food like hot dogs and veggie burgers, along with a hose or "hand-made shower" for a refreshing cool-down.
