About This Race

Set your sights on the East Fork 100 mi/100K/50K/15 mi, an exceptional ultrarunning event taking place on September 12, 2026, in Bethel, Ohio. As one of the only 100-mile and 100-kilometer races in Southwest Ohio, this event, presented by Empower Ultras, offers a unique challenge and a deeply inclusive atmosphere. Runners can choose from a formidable 100-mile, 100-kilometer, 50-kilometer, or a scenic 15-mile course. The longer distances unfold across a 33-ish mile loop around William H. Harsha Lake within East Fork State Park, meaning 100-mile participants will complete three loops, 100K runners two, and 50K contenders one, while the 15-miler is a picturesque out-and-back.

The course itself is a rolling affair, characterized by numerous smaller ascents and descents that, while not sustained climbs, can prove taxing over the miles. Participants will traverse a diverse landscape of mountain bike trails, hiking paths, a small portion of park road, and sections of the Steve Newman Worldwalker Perimeter trail. Prepare to be captivated by stunning lake views, glorious single-track sections, a beautiful waterfall nestled within a pine forest, and open fields bursting with wild hibiscus. A defining feature of this race are the several creek crossings, offering a refreshing break and a chance to cool off. Aid stations are well-supported, with a notable selection of food at the Nature Center aid station, including pancakes, and a cupless policy in effect, requiring runners to carry their own hydration vessels.

Typical race day conditions in September see highs around 82°F and lows around 58°F, with an 11% chance of precipitation, making hydration a key consideration. All entrants receive high-quality Rabbit swag, and 100-mile finishers earn impressive belt buckles, alongside unique awards for all finishers. As part of the Rabbit Trail Tour, the East Fork 100 offers not just a race, but an unforgettable journey through the beautiful and challenging trails of East Fork State Park.
