Prepare for a true taste of Texas trail running at El Taco Loco, returning to the scenic Land Heritage Institute in San Antonio, TX, on November 14, 2026. Runners can choose their challenge from a wide range of distances, including 5K, 10K, 25K, 50K, 100K, and the formidable 100-Mile ultra, alongside a 104K 4-Man Relay and Ruck option. The course features mainly single-track trails with a mix of soft footing and loose gravel, winding through picturesque open meadows and along the tranquil Medina River. While primarily flat, runners can expect some natural undulations with roots and ruts to keep things interesting across the looped courses.

What truly sets El Taco Loco apart is its distinctive finish line reward: every finisher's medal, and the 100K buckle, is designed to hold a taco, and you'll be "taco'd" upon completion! Aid stations are fully stocked with "Texas Style goodies" and supported by outstanding volunteers, ensuring you're well-fueled throughout your race. Typical race day conditions in mid-November offer pleasant running weather, with highs around 75°F and lows near 53°F, accompanied by a minimal 6% chance of precipitation. Packet pickup is available the day before and on race morning at the Land Heritage Institute, which also offers convenient tent and car camping options for a small park fee, inviting a full weekend of trail adventure.
