Runners can choose their adventure across demanding 22K, 11K, and 5K distances, each traversing the rugged single track and two-track trails of Prison Hill. Typical race day conditions in early April offer comfortable highs around 62F and lows near 29F, with a minimal 3% chance of precipitation, providing ideal weather for tackling the varied terrain.

The courses are renowned for their significant elevation gains and stunning scenic vistas overlooking the local landscape. The 22K is a formidable challenge, featuring approximately 3150 feet of elevation gain packed into its 14 miles, including a strenuous 1.5-mile climb up "Dead Truck" with 750 feet of gain, and the "South Climb," or False Summit, where grades can reach a steep 32%. The 11K also presents a substantial 900-foot ascent up Dead Truck, while the 5K, with over 700 feet of elevation, offers a fantastic introduction to trail running, concluding with a rewarding, soft, sandy descent. Be prepared for a self-sufficient race experience; the 5K course does not feature aid stations, and for the longer distances, the first aid station on the 22K course is roughly 8 miles in, necessitating runners carry sufficient hydration and fuel.
