Embark on an unforgettable journey through the heart of Western Pennsylvania at the Export 100 Trail Run, set for October 3, 2026. This challenging 104-mile out-and-back ultra offers runners 7,392 feet of elevation gain across a diverse and scenic course. Participants will traverse the iconic Westmoreland Heritage Trail, West Penn Trail, and the single-track trails of Morosini Reserve, Duff, and Pleasant Valley Parks, all while immersed in the vibrant changing colors of autumn. The course features hilly terrain with sections of rocks, roots, and ruts, providing a true test of endurance.
What makes the Export 100 truly special is its accessibility for both runners and their support teams. The route is designed so that family and friends can cheer on their runners for a majority of the race, adding an invaluable layer of support and atmosphere. Pacers are permitted after mile 62 to help runners push through the demanding final stretches toward the 32-hour cut-off. Aid stations are strategically placed and fully stocked with hot food, Tailwind electrolyte, and various ultra-style snacks, ensuring runners are well-fueled. Many aid stations also boast heated bathrooms with running water.
Directed by accomplished ultrarunner Darren Miller, the Export 100 is not only a physical challenge but also a community-focused event, with 100% of its profits benefiting the local trail community. Typical race day conditions in early October offer pleasant weather, with highs around 70F and lows around 50F, and a relatively low 16% chance of precipitation. This creates an ideal environment to experience the beauty and challenge of the Export 100 Trail Run.
