Lace up your running shoes and celebrate Father's Day weekend at the annual Father's Day Classic 10k, 5k, & 1 Mile, taking place on Sunday, June 21, 2026, in scenic Arvada, Colorado. This beloved event, an annual tradition, welcomes runners and walkers of all ages and paces, from leisurely strolls to competitive sprints. The course, set on the paved Ralston Creek Bike Path, offers a flat and fast concrete surface, ideal for personal bests or simply enjoying the outdoors. Strollers and well-behaved, leashed dogs are also welcome to join the fun, starting towards the back of the pack.
Participants can choose from a challenging 10K, a popular 5K, or the untimed 1 Mile Fun Run. For an added competitive twist, men can test their speed in the timed "Manly Mile," which is free for those registered for the 5k or 10k. Aid stations throughout the 10K and 5K courses will keep you hydrated with water and sports drinks, while the finish area at the APEX Center (13150 W 72nd Ave) encourages participants to bring their own water bottles for a cup-free experience. Typical race day conditions in late June bring highs around 86°F and lows near 54°F, with a minimal 6% chance of precipitation, making for pleasant running weather.
Beyond the race itself, the Father's Day Classic offers a vibrant atmosphere for the whole family. All registrants receive a stylish event t-shirt, and after crossing the finish line, celebrate with post-race festivities. The event proudly supports Community Table with a food drive, allowing participants to give back to the Arvada community. Runners can also look forward to enjoying the free Father's Day Car Show conveniently located at the APEX Center parking area following the race. This event is a certified BolderBoulder qualifier, adding an extra layer of incentive for competitive runners.
