Join the Shreveport community for the 7th Annual Father's Day Race 5K on Saturday, June 13, 2026, at Southern Hills Park. This popular 5K run/walk offers a fantastic opportunity to celebrate fathers, enjoy a family-friendly atmosphere, and support a meaningful cause. The event is hosted by On a Mission LLC, with its primary goal being to raise funds for families experiencing homelessness and to provide scholarships for single fathers pursuing higher education.
The course at Southern Hills Park features a paved path, known for its generally easy and gently rolling terrain, making it accessible for all levels of runners and walkers. Strollers, wagons, and baby joggers are welcome, though participants with them are asked to start at the back. While typical race day conditions in mid-June can see highs around 92°F and lows around 72°F, with a 12% chance of precipitation, the festive spirit of this event is sure to keep participants motivated.
Beyond the 5K, the Father's Day Race is renowned for its vibrant post-race celebration. Participants can look forward to complimentary food and drinks, along with unique activities like horseback riding and snow cones, ensuring a memorable experience for the whole family. Awards will be presented to the overall male and female winners, as well as to the top two finishers in various age groups, ranging from 11-under to 60+. Packet pickup is conveniently available on the Thursday and Friday leading up to the race at RUN WILD, or on race day at Southern Hills Park.
